Blinds Are Us is a Proud Member of the Kitchener Community
Sick Kids Foundation
Over the past 4 years, together with other Eclipse Shutters dealers and employees, we have been a part of raising over $100,000 for the Sick Kids Foundation.
We are looking for donations year round for the foundation. The link below will take you right to our fundraising page where you can track our current progress towards this year’s goal. Donations over $20 will get a tax receipt. Thank you in advance for helping us to support this wonderful cause.
Sick Kids Garage Sale (2014): we took over the entire parking lot of our Kitchener location and hosted a giant garage sale complete with live jazz, draws and prizes, a hotdog stand and thousands of donated household items from our wonderful customers. We raised over $5000 in just one day.
Bike for Sick Kids (2015): our staff raised donations then pedalled from Cambridge to Paris and back again in support of the SickKids Foundation. We were again able to raise just over $5000 at this event.
Paddle for Sick Kids (2016): we put on our life preservers and paddled down the Grand River from Waterloo to Old King Street in support of Sick Kids, the weather was perfect and a fun time was had by all. Again this event raised just under $5000.
Blinds Are Us hosts an annual fundraising campaign in which our staff participate in an event to help raise funds in addition to our regular year round efforts. In the weeks leading up to the event you will see and hear our staff asking for additional donations to help make these events a success.
Habitat for Humanity
We are proud of our partnership with Habitat for Humanity, whose goal is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world. To date, we have helped to provide window coverings to hundreds of low-income families in Waterloo Region and Woodstock our employees have invested thousands of hours of “sweat-equity” helping to install these coverings.
Stanley Park Optimist T-Ball
Being a family owned and operated business, giving back to the youth in our community is really important to us. We sponsor a t-ball team in the Stanley Park Optimist league that runs each spring. This league encourages kids to get involved in sport while also teaching them respect, fair play, sportsmanship and hard work.
